Why is nobody willing to talk about climate in the election campaign?
There is a lot of talk in the election campaign – about inflation, migration, security and other important issues. But climate change, one of the biggest challenges of our time, often remains a side issue. Why do politicians shy away from focussing on this pressing issue? Is it due to a fear of controversial debates, a lack of solutions or simply political calculation?
Climate activist Luisa Neubauer discussed these and other questions in an exciting taz Talk with moderator Jonas Waack. She took stock of the past three years of green climate policy and spoke openly about failures, successes and the need to bring climate protection back into the social and political debate as a central issue.
The talk encourages people to take a closer look at the consequences of a failed climate policy and shows why courageous decisions and concrete measures are needed now more than ever.
